Played in damp, rainy weather, Ra'anana led 6-4 after six ends, when a downpour caused the game to be temporarily suspended. After play resumed, and in tightly contested heads, Ra'anana led 8-7 after 11 ends, and 11-9 after 14 ends. But this then saw the Ramat Gan players combining well, with each player alternatively delivering shot-saving bowls, particularly so by skipper Rami Oron. With Ramat Gan winning three successive heads, Ra'anana was left standing with 11 shots, and when the final end was started, Ramat Gan led 14-11. In the last end, Ra'anana held two shots near the jack only for second player Rothstein's attacking bowl to split open the head and allow coplayer Farkash to draw the lying shot. Skip Hadar was faced with the challenge of saving the game by removing Farkash's bowl for a three or four count, but with his two bowls missing the target. /hasen/objects/pages/PrintArticleEn.jhtml?itemNo=927244 close window
